Personalised notebooks
Rachel woke me this morning with a huge complaint - "Mommy, it's Childrens' Day and you don't have a gift for us !" Not appreciating being woken up, i of course gave her the spiel about how one cannot be demanding and ask for presents; must be grateful for what one already has; it is downright rude etc etc etc .. AND she retorts ... "But we celebrate Mothers' Day for you, you know, so how come you don't celebrate Childrens' Day for us ??!! And of course, small one next to big sis, nods her head vigorously adding "ya mommy, how come ??"
Sigh....
Not wanting to give in to their blatent demands, we came up with this compromise, that we would make the gifts .. TOGETHER.
ANd, the personalised notebooks, done up with the snatches of time in between our commitments today, was the outcome. We cut the paper, chose the embellishments, and bound it with my Zutter (a personal binding gadget). Clarisse helped with the inking, the glitter, and sticking the bling on the flowers, while my Pri 1 sat, and nodded and issued 'suggestions' :P
We were quite pleased with the results - except C, who was very happy with hers, until she saw R's and now wants another EXACTLY the SAME !! ummmph....
Hope you all had yourself a good Childrens' Day too ! And to all my Muslim friends .. Selamat Hari Raya !
